The Peptide Guide 2026
Clear, research-backed protocols for recovery, fat loss, performance and longevity. How each peptide works, how to dose it, what to stack it with, and where to source it clean.
The short version
- Peptides are short amino-acid chains that signal your body to repair, rebuild or burn fuel
- BPC-157 + TB-500 is the go-to recovery stack, pairing local and systemic repair
- GH peptides work best before bed on an empty stomach
- Never draw two different peptides into the same syringe
- Retatrutide holds the weight-loss record: 28.7% average at 68 weeks
- Get baseline bloodwork before your first protocol
- Source matters, so only buy third-party tested, lyophilized vials
- Competing athletes: most of these are on the WADA list
What Are Peptides?
Peptides are short chains of amino acids. They use the same building blocks as protein, just far fewer of them. A protein like collagen runs to hundreds of amino acids; most peptides sit between 2 and 50. That compact size is what makes them useful: they act as precise messengers, binding specific receptors and switching on specific jobs: release growth hormone, rebuild a tendon, burn more fat, calm inflammation.
They aren't steroids. Peptides don't replace your hormones or shut down your own production; they amplify signalling pathways your body already uses. Insulin, oxytocin and glucagon are all peptides you already make.
What peptides can do
- Trigger natural growth-hormone pulses from the pituitary
- Speed up local repair of tendon, ligament and muscle
- Increase fat oxidation and reduce appetite
- Stimulate collagen and elastin production
- Turn inflammation up or down
- Support mitochondrial energy production
- Improve insulin sensitivity
What they won't do
- Replace testosterone or suppress your natural axis
- Make up for poor training, sleep or nutrition
- Build steroid-level muscle overnight
- Remove the need for bloodwork
- Work if they're stored or mixed badly
- Behave the same way, since each one is highly specific
Good to know
Research peptides mimic or extend signals your body already sends. They're not foreign to your biology. They're a louder version of it.

How to Start a Protocol
The most common mistake is skipping the groundwork. These six steps are the difference between optimising and guessing.
- 1
Get baseline bloodwork
CMP, CBC, lipid panel, fasting glucose, HbA1c and a hormone panel. Add IGF-1 for any growth-hormone peptide. You can't measure progress without a starting point.
- 2
Pick one primary goal
Recovery, fat loss, performance or longevity. Start with one or two peptides, not five. If something works (or doesn't) you'll know why.
- 3
Source third-party tested vials
A low-purity peptide isn't just weaker, it's a risk. Peptsche Research Company supplies 99% HPLC-verified, lyophilized vials with published lab reports.
- 4
Reconstitute properly
Use bacteriostatic water. Let it run slowly down the inside wall of the vial, never directly onto the powder. Swirl, don't shake. Refrigerate at 2–8°C once mixed. Work out your syringe draw →
- 5
Administer cleanly
One peptide per syringe. Respect timing windows (see the timing table below) and rotate injection sites. Log doses and sites →
- 6
Re-test at weeks 4–6
Compare against baseline. If IGF-1 hasn't moved on a GH protocol, check timing and fasting. If glucose creeps up, adjust. Plan your cycle →
Stacking Protocols
Stacks work when the mechanisms complement each other. These are the combinations with the strongest rationale. Want one built around your goals? Try the Stack Builder →

The never-mix list
- BPC-157 + TB-500 in one syringe: different pH preferences can cause precipitation (pre-made blend vials are formulated for this)

- GHK-Cu with other peptides in a home-mixed syringe: copper complexes are pH-sensitive
- Any two peptides with different pH stability requirements
Peptide Timing Guide
Timing isn't a detail. Matching a peptide to your body's natural rhythms changes the result.
| Peptide | Best timing | Why | With food? |
|---|---|---|---|
| BPC-157 | Morning or near injury | Local repair signal | Either |
| TB-500 | Same days each week | Systemic, long-acting | Either |
| CJC-1295 + Ipamorelin | 30–60 min before bed | Rides the night-time GH pulse | Fasted 2–3 hr |
| Tesamorelin | Morning or pre-sleep | Consistent daily GH stimulus | Fasted |
| MOTS-c | Morning, pre-training | Pairs with exercise-driven AMPK | Fasted |
| NAD+ | Morning | Energizing, can disrupt late sleep | Either |
| Retatrutide / Tirzepatide | Same day each week | Long half-life, so consistency matters | Either |
| GHK-Cu | Evening | Collagen synthesis peaks overnight | Either |
| Semax | Morning / early afternoon | Focus window; avoid late doses | Either |
| PT-141 | ~45 min before | Onset window | Light meal |
Safety, Side Effects & WADA
Most research peptides have mild, dose-dependent side-effect profiles. Here's what's commonly reported, and what's banned in tested sport.

Competing athletes
BPC-157 and other unapproved compounds fall under WADA's S0 category; TB-500 and all GH secretagogues (CJC-1295, Ipamorelin, Tesamorelin) fall under S2. If you're drug-tested, check your sport's code before you start anything. *NAD+ is not listed, but IV infusions over 100mL in 12 hours are prohibited.

What are peptides and how do they work?
Peptides are short chains of 2–50 amino acids that act as signalling molecules. Each binds specific receptors to switch on a specific job: releasing growth hormone, repairing tissue, burning fat or calming inflammation. They work with your body's existing systems rather than replacing them.
Are peptides safe?
Most research peptides show favourable safety profiles in published studies, with mild, dose-dependent side effects. Human data is still limited for several compounds, so start at the low end of a range, get baseline bloodwork, and only use third-party tested material. Impurity is the biggest avoidable risk.
What's the best peptide for recovery?
BPC-157 and TB-500 together. BPC-157 handles targeted, local repair; TB-500 covers systemic healing. Run them in separate syringes or use a pre-blended Wolverine vial.
What's the best peptide for fat loss?
Retatrutide currently leads with 28.7% average weight loss at 68 weeks. Tirzepatide (~21%) has the longer clinical track record. For visceral fat specifically, Tesamorelin has strong data; MOTS-c supports insulin sensitivity alongside either.
Can I mix peptides in the same syringe?
No. Different peptides need different pH environments to stay stable, and mixing can cause precipitation and lost potency. Use separate syringes. Lab-made blend vials are the exception, since they are formulated together.
How do I reconstitute peptides?
Add bacteriostatic water slowly down the inside wall of the vial, never directly onto the powder. Gently swirl or roll for a minute or two, let it rest, and never shake. Store mixed vials in the fridge at 2–8°C. Our reconstitution calculator shows exactly how far to draw.
What bloodwork should I get first?
For every protocol: CMP, CBC, lipid panel, fasting insulin, fasting glucose and HbA1c. For GH peptides add IGF-1. For metabolic peptides add a thyroid panel and ApoB. Re-test at weeks 4–6.
What's the best longevity peptide?
GHK-Cu has the broadest evidence base. It influences more than 4,000 genes tied to repair. MOTS-c and NAD+ round out a longevity stack by supporting mitochondrial function and the sirtuin repair enzymes.
